Work/Volunteer Experiences
My first job was at CVS/Pharmacy . Afterward, I began to do a lot of volunteer work which brought me closer to my Peer Leadership classmates as well as the community. I have participated in many "causes" for example, Alzheimer's walk and Relay for Life. I have created a Senior Citizen Prom for senior citizens in nursing homes, with my Peer Leadership group. I mentored underclassmen in social issues and substance abuse. We also had rally's to get the word spread to stop saying "retard" in derogatory use. I was in the Steering Committee of ADAPT (Adolescent Drug & Alcohol Prevention Team). Currently, I aid my grandfather three times a week when my grandmother is not around because he just experienced heart surgery. I also drive him to dialysis. Babysitting is something I do not consider a job because I love it so much but I have been babysitting since I was about fourteen years old. I also volunteered at Hilton hotel, near the pool doing maintenance and life guarding in Singer Island, FL. Also, I volunteered at Mirasol Tennis Camp working with children.
